Please join the Embassy of Poland and the Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies at Georgetown University for an event commemorating the fifth anniversary of the attempted Russian annexation of Crimeaa screening of the film “Shadows of the Empire” by Polish director Karol Starnawski.

The film follows three separate stories of people variously bruised and uprooted by Russia's war on small states unwilling to comply to its imperial politics. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on the consequences of unresolved conflicts in the former Soviet Union, including:

- Tomasz Grzywaczewski, Journalist and Author of “Dream Boundaries: About Unrecognized States"
- Professor Przemysław Żurawski vel Grajewski, College of Europe in Natolin/ Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of Poland
- Ambassador Kenneth Yalowitz, Professor of Government at Georgetown University
- Professor Angela Stent, CERES Director at Georgetown University

The screening and panel discussion will be accompanied by a light reception.
